# Prerequisites

Before you begin to work with an IBM DB2 for LUW database as a source in Qlik Compose, make sure the following prerequisites have been met:

* The IBM DB2 for LUW database should be configured with the required [Permissions](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/compose/December2024/Content/ComposeDWDL/Main/DW/Data%20Source%20Connections/data_source_permissions.htm) and accessible from the Compose machine.
* The IBM Data Server Driver for ODBC and CLI version 10.5 must be installed on the Qlik Compose machine.
